Ropes Course weekend with your student
Coming in September 2010 we will have a ropes course weekend where the parents and extended family members can come and join their student who is level one or above on the Campus ropes course.

Our trained professional ropes course instructors will...facilitate a weekend experience teaching: communication, planning, trust, teamwork, leadership, relationship building, and personal reflection. This weekend with parents and students provides an opportunity to grow as a family and share in the multiple challenges of the ropes program. This is great therapy for a family.

The events and activities introduced at the Ropes Course are not designed to be competitive or a race against time, but rather are intended to encourage participants to do their best.
The Ropes Course emphasizes building self-esteem, developing leadership, and working as a team to accomplish tasks, and it provides opportunities for every participant to succeed as an individual and as a member of a group.

The Ropes Course experience is broken up into four sections; initiative games, trust events, low-course events, and high-course events. We start with initiative game so that all involved can begin to get used to working with each other, building trust and relationship. Next, we move into the trust event which are a series of activities designed to develop trust in the mind of an individual and with the group as a whole, as well as develop spotting skills. Third is the low-course events that involve planning, trust, teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills. These events challenge the group as a whole. And finally we make our way to the high-course events. These events are more for the individual but still involve trust and communication along with problem solving and planning.

Overall the Ropes Course experience is challenging yet rewarding, leaving you with a smile on your face and a sense of accomplishment in your heart.
